Is SPARK a patent filing service?

No. SPARK is pre-filing validation and research. If you choose SPARK Legal or SPARK PRO, you'll get a formal Patentability Assessment from a licensed practitioner. If you decide to file a patent application after SPARK, you can choose a fixed-price filing package or ask your attorney for a quote.

What's the difference between the packages?

SPARK Basic ($99) is patent research only. SPARK Market ($398) adds market analysis and data. SPARK Legal ($598) adds legal and engineering review. SPARK PRO ($897) bundles everything together.

How long does SPARK take?

Most SPARK reports are completed within 7–10 business days. If your package includes the legal review, allow an additional 3–5 days for the licensed practitioner's assessment.

What if I'm not satisfied?

SPARK Research is covered by our Customer Satisfaction Promise. Contact us within 30 days of receiving your report so we can work to correct the issue or refund the portion of services not delivered.

Is my idea protected during this process?

All work is conducted under strict confidentiality and backed by NDAs.

Who pays the attorney for the Patentability Assessment?

SPARK is sold by Montgomery IP Associates. When your package includes a Patentability Assessment, Montgomery IP pays the independent attorney for that work. The attorney's professional duties are still owed to you. You'll be told this in writing before you buy, and you can decline.

Does SPARK use AI? How is it different from AI patent tools?
